Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge Class starts October 29th on Discord

The Eagle Required Merit Badge, 'Citizenship in the Nation',  will start in October.  

We will start with Citizenship in the Nation. All classes will start @ 7pm on Discord.
Dates10/29, 11/5, 11/19, 12/3,  12/17.

Citizenship in the Community and the World are to follow, dates TBD.  Please address all class questions to the three MB Counselors: Bonnie Smith @  bsmith9300@gmail.com,  Sarah Velmont @ velmont@comcast.net, and Tammie Standing @ penutbdr@hotmail.com .

Health & Medication Forms Requirements

Current Health forms A,B & C are required for all scout events.  Prescription forms and medications are to be turned in to our medical chair, Micheline King,  or the adult leader in charge of the camp medications for that trip.  Contact Micheline at sxeerrn65@gmail.com with new or changes in medication. 

  • Medication & Current Heath forms AB&C are now REQUIRED for every trip 
  • Meds are in the original, current, prescription bottle with Medication Form 
  • The quantity of medication matches the amount needed for the length of the trip only

Troop Communication Tools & Resource

For those of you who are new to the Troop,  please take advantage of our tools and resources: 

1377 Troop Website - Check the calendar, register for activities, read announcements, find advancement information and download Troop forms.

Event Registration -Click on the activity listed to the right under Event Registration. Click on "Yes" for each family member attending. You can edit your answer up to the deadline for registration. Accurate activity rosters are necessary to generate a Travel Plan (BSA regulation), arrange transportation (Transportation Captain), equipment needs (Quartermaster), and food (Chef). Scouts must also let your Patrol Leader know if you will/will not be attending campouts as they need to coordinate tents and food.

Calendar Synchronization - Synchronize your personal digital calendar with the Troop Calendar. After login, click on ‘Calendar Sync’ and follow the instructions. Sync automatically updates Troop activities to your calendar.

EBlast - Receive an email every Sunday of Troop events and announcements. Check your email spam filters to allow email from kingwood1377.mytroop.us.

TroopMaster Web 2.0 - http://tmweb.troopmaster.com/mysite/troop1377 is where Scouts and Parents view their advancement records and personal information. Leaders may have rights to edit/write data for their area of responsibility and Parents have rights to edit for their son’s personal information. Email the Advancement Chair for access at advancement@kingwood1377.mytroop.us

Troop Photos - Our private Shutterfly site stores and shares photos of the Troop at various activities. Be sure to download the Shutterfly Share Site App, if you are a member of multiple groups- not plain Shutterfly.  For security reasons, you must email troop_photos@kingwood1377.mytroop.us with your name and the email address to become a member of our site.

University of Scouting

University of Scouting is a semi-annual training event for leaders of all program levels, district and council leaders, and parents. For 2020, participants can take virtual and/or in-person classes at the new Camp Strake. 
Online classes - November 9-12, 2020
In-person classes  - November 14, 2020 at Camp Strake (the registration price for this session increases after today)
Sessions are led by experienced volunteers who will help you enhance your ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the Scouts. This unique day of seminars provides information, techniques, and best practices on how to improve your Scout program. Whether you are new to the program or a veteran of many years, the University of Scouting has something for you.

Scouts BSA Merit Badge Days

Scouts in troops can participate in merit badge classes held at the new Camp Strake. Classes will be held from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.  State of Texas and Center for Disease Control requirements will be followed and class sizes will be limited. Classes will stay together for the day and will not mix with other groups. Parents will drop off and pick up their Scout at the merit badge class. Scouts will go through a medical screening up arrival.

Bag Sales is November 7th

Our Fall Fundraiser Bag Sales date is November 7th. These essential funds pay for scout equipment, maintenance, and activities. All Scouts are required to sell 30 rolls each by attending Bag Sale Day or electing to sell on them on their own.  The Adult Fundraiser Coordinator is Max M. Mundemba (281) 974-8131. The Command Center location is To Be Determined.  Stay tuned for updates! 

Our Scout bags are $12 a roll,  25 bags per roll, Each bag holds 39 gallons & is 2 mils thick, and they are Made in the USA!
